Thanks for visiting the Stained Glass Turtle. This site reflects the work of Rhonda Meredith, a native of the Shenandoah Valley, in Virginia. All her designs are original patterns inspired by the beauty of the environment surrounding her. She uses the copper foil method, individually cutting, grinding, foiling, and soldering each piece.
Once an idea is born, a sketch is drawn, and then color is added. The fun begins in selecting just the right glass for each work of art. Much of the appeal of stained glass is not only in the beauty of the glass itself, but also in the awareness of where to place color and texture. She approaches her work with precision, having a great respect for the medium. Rhonda is attentive to the medium, working slowly in order to develop new ideas and ways to execute them---thus the name, Stained Glass Turtle.
"As we all know, good Art takes at least an hour."
Rhonda graduated with a BFA in Design from East Carolina University and teaches K-8 Art and Design.
